I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
5.0
I’m definitely not a memoir person, but I was curious about this book as someone who remembers Jennette from her roles on Nickelodeon. For a book that has many sad moments regarding abuse, eating disorders, and the misogynistic entertainment industry, Jennette has such a way with words! She turns what could be very sad stories into vignettes that draw from the absurdity of life. And when you get actual moments of joy and clarity, they make you feel warm. I would to read more from her and her funny way of writing about living.
