Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

5.0

This was the first book I read in 2017 and somehow I never reviewed it...which is odd as I found out fantastic. I love Trevor's standup, the way he address both big serious issues and minor inconveniences with humor -- but in a way that doesn't seem like he's deflecting or detracting from the problem. If you like his humor, if you like learning about what South Africa was like during apartheid, if you want to laugh at situations that were so tragic that all you can do to talk about them is convey their absurdity with humor, if...ah just go read the book already
