My little cousin has a reading assignment every week at school where she must read at least 2 books a week. I choose this book for her because I enjoyed it my first time. We read it together and now the only way to get her to read is to read together.We both enjoyed Summer Of My German Soldier and the meaning behind it. My hope was to get her to understand just how hard it was when our grandma was growing up. She asked lots of questions and picked not only mine but my grandma's brain as well. Out of 4 stars I give it 3.
