Did I just read a perfect cozy romance? I think so!

Chloe is a socially anxious, hyper-organized British Chinese immigrant working with her father to build a revenge sauce Empire. Jeremy is a very fun, half Chinese, secret Duke who is absolutely head over heels for her and is working to convince her to marry him.

This is a low-angst story of two people who totally love each other coming together. It's sweet. It's funny. Friends and especially family play an important role. It's grounded. The racial politics and genre tropes are acknowledged and subverted. The setting is a village of diverse working class citizens, not the Ton, and it's just a pleasure to experience.

Mary Jane Wells narrates the audiobook; she is excellent and her performance pairs perfectly with Milan's writing. Loved it; no notes!
