From Below by Darcy Coates

I hardly read ghost stories because they usually don’t interest me or I find them boring. This one piqued my interest because it’s by Darcy Coates and I’ve already read a few books by her and I truly enjoyed them. Also, being stuck under water, with ghosts? Sounds like a good story to me!

In 1928 the SS Arcadia sinks close to Swedens coast. Without a trace. Over 60 years later, the wreck has been discovered and a team of six people sets out to explore the wreck and to document this exploration. The story is told in sequences from the exploration and from the last days of its passengers and it’s crew on the SS Arcadia before the sinking. What happens before the ship sank? What is happening at bottom of the sea? And once the crew realizes what is going on, it just might be to late.. and they are running out of oxygen.. and out of an exit out of the ship wreck.

The book definitely builds up to the nerve-racking ending and keeps the reader hooked to the very last page. I truly enjoyed this one. Creepy, fast paced, solid story, with a pinch of claustrophobia, and definitely a good ghost story.
