The Twisted Throne by Danielle L. Jensen
5.0

Twisted Throne delivered everything I love in a fantasy romance, tense political intrigue, fierce loyalty, and a slow-burn, forbidden love that absolutely stole the show. Ahnna and James are magnetic together, the kind of pairing that simmers with unspoken words, guarded glances, and heat that builds with every shared moment. Their chemistry is undeniable, the kind that crackles on the page and leaves you breathless.

Ahnna is sharp, calculating, and burdened with the weight of her people’s survival. James, the overlooked half-brother to the crown prince, is quiet strength and moral clarity, an anchor in a court full of manipulation. Every time they were on the page together, I knew something would happen, something charged, or devastating, or both.

The push and pull between them felt real: a dance between duty and desire, loyalty and longing. And when the lines finally blur? It’s electric. Their connection isn’t just romantic, it’s layered with trust, sacrifice, and the ache of two people who shouldn’t want each other, but do anyway.

This is easily one of the strongest installments in the Bridge Kingdom series. The emotional stakes are high, the pacing is sharp, and the romance is unforgettable. Ahnna and James broke me in the best way.

If you love forbidden love, if you crave that deep, slow build with impossible choices and all-consuming tension, this book is for you. Five stars, without hesitation.
