Bane of Widuri by Nadiah Zakaria

4.0

Heartbreaking, beautiful and dark.

Set in Kedah, Bane of Widuri shares a story of seven orphaned girls named after 7 flowers; Kemboja, Mawar, Wisteria, Azalea, Iris, Cempaka and Melur. The girls are promised freedom once they turned sixteen by their headmistress, Madam Dahlia. To celebrate Kemboja's birthday Melur decided to break the rule of not to enter the forbidden garden.

From page one I was hooked. It was impossible to put down. Pages after pages I'm dying to know what happened and what's going on. I love the details explained in the story. I love reading about the flowers name and their characters too. Overall, it was a good read and thumbs up to the author. I really enjoyed reading it. It was twisted, full of secrets and lies. Looking forward to read more from the author in the future!
