King of Pride by Ana Huang

5.0

It's official. I'm in love with this series! King of Pride is a tension-filled opposites attract, forbidden, billionaire romance. The story follows Kai, a prim and proper businessman, and Isabella, a creative and fun aspiring writer. The two have always orbited around each other being in the same friend group, but, when Isabella begins bartending at the exclusive clubhouse Kai frequents, they find themselves opening up to one another and struggling to stay away even though fraternization between employees and members is forbidden.

This review is an ode to Kai Young, because that man, that MAN, is everything! I absolutely loved how sweet and attentive he is to Isabella, the way he folded and instantly succumbed to his connection to her was perfect. He was willing to put everything aside and focus on her and their blossoming relationship. I loved that both of them grew and encouraged each other, Kai was there to drive Isabella and make sure she knew she was enough, and Isabella taught Kai that there are more important things in life than work and that it's okay to let loose. I think it's say to say Anna Huang has blown me away again, I am moving right along to King of Greed; I love marriage in trouble romances and am here for all the angst.
