City of Glass
by Cassandra Clare
Omg, my love for Simon knows no bounds. I will fight you if you don't think Simon is the best character in this series lol!!!
Now that I got that out of my system. Let's talk about the book.
So I won't go into the plot because this the third book in this series and I don't want to spoil anything for you. I will say this... The plot of this book is so much better than the first two books. The pacing is on point and there are so many unexpected plot twists. Argh so good....so good.
Additionally, in this book, we got a lot more character development across the board, and we were introduced to a couple of new characters in this book. I am growing to just love these characters more and more. A lot of this can be attributed to the writing. Since this is in third-person, Clare utilizes this to give us time with each character and I love how almost every character has their own story arch. This is not just about Clary and Jack, but the story focuses on all the characters. This is really an ensemble narrative.
One really cool aspect of this book was that we got to delve more into the shadow hunters world. In this book, we go to Idris which like a headquarter for shadow hunters. It is almost like there own country. In this area, we get so much more knowledge of this world and learn many interesting backstories of this world.
I am so hyped to continue this series and now I can see why so many people love it. You have amazing characters alongside a fast-paced plot coupled with killer humor and that for me is a recipe for success! If you haven't started this series, get on it!!!!!
