This book started REALLY strong. The setup made sense, Eliza was an amazing MC, and I was pulling quotes I loved almost every single page. At about 80%, a reveal happened that just kind of ruined everything for me. I felt that given that information, nothing that took place prior made much sense. I also found Len to be a bit of a letdown. I really liked him the whole time, but I was waiting for a moment he was really gonna stand up for Eliza when she was being harrassed, tormented, and bullied by her whole school before his very eyes. When he finally did take some action, I thought it was just too little too late. Quan really spoiled us with a remarkable MC, and unfortunately it was going to take a lot more from Len for me to feel like he deserved her in the slightest. Overall, I'm so sad this ended up being a letdown for me, but I sincerely enjoyed the earlier parts of the book, and would still encourage YA readers to check it out!
