I remember reading Empire of the Vampire well and thinking of only one word that could accurately be used to describe it - epic. It was freaking epic. Because of that, I desperately wanted to get my hands on this book and hoped like hell it would live up to the first.

I'll keep this brief so as not to spoil anything...
Gabriel de Leon is back. He's saved Dior, the Holy Grail, from death and must again keep her safe. Together, they set out to learn how she can end the endless night. Peril is at Gabriel's feet everywhere he goes and he will do anything to keep his promise and be by Dior's side. This is the story of Gabriel telling his side of what happened.

That. Ending. I had a feeling it would blow me away, but damn. I'm simultaneously excited and confused and concerned. A very odd combination. I wish I could get my hands on book three now while this is all still fresh in my head!
