Of Women and Salt by Gabriela Garcia

4.0

Beautiful story spanning several generations of women hopping between 19th-century Cuba to modern day Miami, Cuba, and Mexico. Carmen steadfastly lives in the present, Jeannette wants to learn from the past, and Ana and Gloria strive for a better future, but all sustain themselves with admirable strength with a sprinkling of vulnerability although coming from varied backgrounds. At times, I did find the jumping timeline disorienting and would have to remind myself of which year the story was currently set in, but overall I greatly enjoyed this novel.

Thank you to Flatiron Books for this ARC in exchange for a honest review.
