The Plotters
by Un-su Kim
This is the book that got me into South Korean literature. I finished this book in no time at all. It was so good and I honestly really loved the main character, Reseng, despite the fact that he’s an assassin. The more I read the book, the more I realized that he was truly a victim of circumstance. And I began to wonder what he would’ve been like had he been raised by different people. What would he be like had he not been abandoned? I remember spending a lot of time just thinking about this book after I finished it. I started to really want this man to just have a happy ending. It’s a great read. Well written, well thought out.
