My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent
4.0

I have really enjoyed reading this series by Rachel Vincent and when Mira Ink asked me if I wanted to review the book as part of their blog tour I jumped at the chance and as soon as I received my copy I dove right in. My Soul to Steal introduces a few new characters into the story, one of the main ones being Sabine, Nash's ex girlfriend, who is also a Mara, a literal nightmare.

We continue straight on from the previous book, My Soul to Keep, and we see Kaylee still struggling with the actions of Nash and finding it difficult to trust him again, even when it comes down to singing for someones soul, she still doesn't feel like she can trust him.

Sabine is trying her hardest to make the chasm between Nash and Kaylee even bigger and is doing everything in her power to get what she wants, Nash. While Nash still sees some good in Sabine, Kaylee sees nothing but bad and is prepared to fight for Nash, even though she isn't sure that she wants him back.

Rachel adds so much emotion and feelings into the book it's hard not to have strong feelings of dislike or love for the characters.

From the moment Sabine is introduced I really disliked her. Her whole attitude towards others wasn't nice, and even though she is 100% honest with what she is doing and what she wants I really couldn't bring myself to like her. It wasn't till you get near the end of My Soul to Steal that you get to see the truth and why she acts the way she does, which makes me sympathise a small bit with some of her actions and her reasoning behind it.

However, although I want Nash and Kaylee to get their act together I was struggling with their issues myself. Part of me want to scream at Kaylee and tell her to make up her mind about Nash, and either end it, as it wasnt' right to keep Nash hanging on the tiny thread of hope that things could be alright again, or make up and start over again on a clean slate.

I am really liking how Todd and Alec are coming into their own personalities and we get to see them more, and after a few things that I reading My Soul to Steal, I can't wait to see what comes from it. I really enjoyed My Soul to Steal and was kept on tenterhooks with suspense, wondering what was going to happen next.

My Soul to Steal has upped the ante for the series and I really can't wait to read If I Die.
