The Fallen Witch by Emma V.R. Noyes

4.0

The Fallen Witch took me on an adventurous ride, but I’ve got to say, our FMC is starting to test my patience. She makes the kind of reckless, avoidable decisions that make me want to reach through the pages and shake her—yet, I have to admit, it keeps the drama rolling. It’s part of the reason the story hooks you in, though you might find yourself yelling, "Just make the smart choice!"

The Fallen Witch weaves in some of my favorite tropes—forced proximity, a love triangle that had me on edge, and even a fake marriage that adds a whole new level of tension. The dynamics between the characters, especially as they navigate these complexities, kept me hooked. Each trope felt natural to the story, adding layers of intrigue and making the romantic tension all the more delicious.

What really stole my heart is the world itself. It’s deeply enchanting, full of magical depth—even the lurking monsters add a layer of intrigue. I found myself falling in love with the setting all over again. And then there’s Lukas, my favorite character, hands down. I’m rooting for him more than the FMC at this point. He's the grounding force, while she's off being...well, let’s say, not the sharpest tool in the shed.

The whole thing still gives me strong Vampire Diaries vibes. You know the drill: the FMC always seems to need saving, stumbles into chaos, doubts herself, and then somehow pulls off a miraculous win when everything’s on the line. It’s becoming a bit repetitive, but it’s an entertaining ride nonetheless.

The ending? It caught me off guard, but it wasn’t the kind of jaw-dropper that leaves you in shock. I’m still enjoying the journey, though it’s not quite hitting legendary status. Solid 4 stars for me!
