A beautiful memoir that provides great insight into the Asian American experience and the role of complex trauma. For someone who has heard of complex trauma but has not done a lot of research, this felt like a good, personal introduction into the topic. Stephanie goes through a lot in her life, and the book can be hard to get through, especially in the beginning when she's recounting it. But she does a great job of the highs and lows of her story and her journey into treating her CPTSD. I appreciated that she talked about a lot of different treatment options and why they worked or didn't work for her, as well as the privilege she held in having so many different options. Great read.
