It feels like a bit of a letdown, reading this for the second time when I have now read at least one hundred other books. Due to the hype, I bought the complete first edition series in 2019 when I originally picked up reading again. I got two books into this series and shelved it since. I admire the progress Lily makes in this second book and how loving and supportive Loren is through it all, I just feel like the sex scenes (even if they represent how her addiction is represented) is a bit too much for me. I want to love this series as much as everyone else did but I fear I waited too long. My goal midyear was to read the complete series so when people pointed to my library and asked if I had read these I could say yes, even if my reviews weren’t the most positive. I am just committed to the goal even if I have to pull myself through it all. Someone wish me luck or at least let me know it gets better and I’m not alone.
