The Choice: Embrace the Possible by Edith Eva Eger
5.0
“Don’t give me another heavy thing to carry. Let me fall among the stones.”
So much more than a biography!
Edith Eger wrote this account of her life at the age of 90. At 16 she & her sister Magda had spent one year incarcerated in Auschwitz where they were to lose their parents, grandparents & she, her boyfriend. The part of the book describing this experience takes up just a few chapters.
This is so much more than an account of Auschwitz!
This is a life affirming account of how we learn & grow & can free ourselves from ANY trauma or life limiting situation ‘purely’ by engaging our minds correctly/differently.
Edie went on to become a world renowned psychotherapist & this book alone has changed the thinking of so many people. I can certainly see why.
At 92 she has just released her second book.
“To be passive is to let others decide for you. To be aggressive is to decide for others. To be assertive is to decide for yourself.”
“Always use your beautiful things, you never know when they’ll be gone.”
I hope everyone reads this book. X
