Survivor by J.F. Gonzalez
3.0

Survivor by J F Gonzalez is extreme horror at its very finest. It is grim, triggering and packed full of action…and gore, lots and lots of gore.
Lisa and Brad’s married life thus far has been troubled, but finally Lisa has gotten pregnant, and she plans to tell Brad tonight, the first night of their holiday. Things go slightly pear shaped, when a mysterious man in a van behind them has Brad arrested for dangerous driving, meaning he is imprisoned until his court date, Monday. Meanwhile, Lisa is abducted from her hotel room and held hostage by the very man who had her husband arrested earlier that day. It quickly becomes apparent that the three abductees are involved in the production of snuff films, and Lisa will be making her debut as a movie star.
The writing is not world class, and Survivor will never go down in history as a piece of literary genius, but it was good ENOUGH to convey the plot. At around the 70% mark it becomes more of a thriller.
All in all, it may not be for the faint of heart, but it worked for me. It’s a great commentary on how the rich are often corrupt, and that you can trust no one. The plot twist is impeccable, the ending is devastating
