The Alpha Contract by Eliot Grayson

4.0

There's an element to this story that bothered me a little bit (details below in the spoilers, but it's sexual preference rather than true spoilers), but overall I enjoyed this entry in the Mismatched Mates series. I even listened to the audiobook as soon as it was released a few months later!

This is mostly a standalone, although there are minor references to a previous book [b:Lost Touch|61478905|Lost Touch (Mismatched Mates)|Eliot Grayson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1658016571l/61478905._SY75_.jpg|95617703].

SpoilerOur non-alpha lead starts the book thinking that he is a top, but the alpha he contracts to mate him (so that he isn't provided an alpha mate picked out by his family) says he's straight and only willing to top, so the non-alpha has to bottom. Non-alpha ends up really liking bottoming, so it's a happy ending for everyone, but it felt a little dismissive of his stated preferences. I would have loved to see more (or any) switching going on.
