I read this book super fast, and I feel like I've grown attached to the characters. Morgan, a track athlete who is very openly lesbian, struggles with leaving her homophobic, Catholic school and decides she wants to help people who are in a similar situation to her. Ruby, who competes in pageants, knows that she doesn't want to do that because its her mom's dream, she wants to fix up cars. She doesn't have a good relationship with her mom because she was a teen when she had Ruby, and she also struggles a lot financially. Ruby is trying to figure herself out while trying to maintain that strong, happy person that she was taught from pageant training. I was scared that I wouldn't like it, but I love it soooooo much.
Graphic: Homophobia
Moderate: Bullying and Transphobia
Minor: Sexual content and Outing
