Life As We Knew It
by Susan Beth Pfeffer
Mostly well written post-apocalyptic mid-teen fiction. A little handwavy in the science department, but I can overlook that given the narrator is a small-town teen girl who's whole world just imploded - not the most reliable narrator, so that may be intentional. Also, slightly biased at certain points, but that might be the narrator, not the author - gonna wait to read the companion story before I pass judgment on that topic.
