I reread this book for the first time since I was a junior in high school. I have this memory in my mind of liking the book back then. Well, I would love to have a conversation with my 17-year-old self and ask her what she liked about this book because I didn't enjoy it this time around. I think Steinbeck is just not for me. Perhaps a good analysis of the book would help me to appreciate it better but as a piece of entertainment, it fell short.
