Falling for Your Boss by Emma St. Clair

Okay, this was really sweet!

I will admit to being hesitant about the age gap (19 years). While it isn’t unusual in historical fiction (think Emma & Mr. Knightley and Elsie & Mr. Travilla), the modern take on age gap is usually icky. HOWEVER, here I felt the author handled it quite nicely! I’m the same age as Zoey, and I can’t say I’d want to date someone the same age as my parents, but honestly, if the characters hadn’t kept mentioning the age gap, I would have forgotten. Why? Because Gavin & Zoey are incredibly well-matched. They have fantastic chemistry and balanced each other out.

So… yes, I thought it was well handled and frankly pretty sweet.

And I need to take a minute to say I LOVED Gavin’s parents! Also, Zoey’s dad—Mr. Abramson. I wasn’t sure about him initially in Zane’s story, but then with Zoey, he was amazing. She brought her feelings for Gavin to him. And while he did admit he had his concerns, he also trusted her judgment. Healthy relationship right there!
