listen this is a 90s paranormal romance aimed at teens written by a white woman. Don't go in expecting anything too grand or incredible besides a cute lil vampire romance and you'll probs like it.

Honestly I don't have a lot to say since I am 100% trash for L.J. Smith's writing style. My one complaint is that

we find out about Poppy and Phil being witches randomly towards the end and it feels so weird to put in like the last chapter, although yeah ofc it'll make sense in the long run but still this feels like such a weird place to put the info
