Come with Me by Ronald Malfi

Did not finish book. Stopped at 34%.
There were several issues that caused me to stop reading this book. The main character is terminally stupid. For example, when he speaks to his wife's former boss, he's completely clueless when the boss suggests there could be a pattern in the deaths his wife was researching obsessively before she died. How can a person see that someone was researching multiple murders taking place over decades and yet not once think "I wonder if there could be a link here"?

He ends almost every sentence with his wife's name to the point where it becomes grating.  This is also one of those books where the main character allows grief to consume him to the point where it becomes unbearable to read further. He goes back and forth between referring to her as "You" and as "Allison" for some reason, and I find books, movies, and shows where the character repeats other people's names constantly to be annoying beyond belief.

If it had just been one issue, I probably could have overlooked it and gotten through the book, but combined with the other things I mentioned, it was clear this wasn't a book I was going to enjoy.
