The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang

3.0

What a ride this read was! Took me a minute to really fall into the characters, but the arcs were very, very satisfying. I felt a TON. I connected with Misaki much more than I anticipated (probably because I'm a parent) but I am glad that I found a character to connect too.

Decent plot, some good action and dialogue, but the strength of this book is how the characters and their decisions MADE ME FEEL.

A few points off for a clunky beginning and some info dumping, but it comes together in the end.
