Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

5.0

New favorite!

Lady Trent but with fae? Historical fantasy in a version of the world without major misogyny or homophobia? What more could I want? I loved this book so much and yeah, it wasn’t super deep, but it’s checked all my boxes and I can’t wait for the sequel! I love characters like Emily. Never thought I could be into someone named Wendell but here we are lol. I really enjoyed him! Such a refresher from SJM-type fae. The writing style was never particularly captivating but it was immersive enough and I loved the incorporation of lore. This book was just the cleanse I needed and it makes me consider rereading Lady Trent.
