The Cleaner
by Samantha Beal
I loved this story! I was able to get lost in it as if I were binging my favorite tv series.
Edith Grant is no ordinary house cleaner. Having a “very particular skill set”, she makes her living getting jobs cleaning up the messes a dead body leaves. Until, she gets caught up in a mess of her own. Two detectives trying to solve a murder find that Edith’s name keeps popping up, and things aren’t adding up with her.
The romantic ending was worth the wait, but I wished Edith and detective Briggs had more passion throughout the book, it felt like a middle school crush I couldn’t bare to watch.
The way every event unfolds in this book is so beautifully written. The reader gets to view things from the confused detectives trying to piece everything together, the murders who know exactly what they’re doing and how to dodge the police’s questions,,, and Edith Grant who’s playing both sides.
I’m excited to see how this series comes together.
