Vera Wong's Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man)
by Jesse Q. Sutanto
This was such a great follow-up to the first book! I wasn't sure where exactly a second book could go, but this did everything I wanted and more. I struggled in the first book with the humor, feeling as if it could be a bit forced at times, but this book was absolutely laugh-out-loud funny. I found myself snorting multiple times throughout the book and it was the quickest of reads.
I loved all of the new characters, but also loved how the old characters were tied in. I definitely needed a bit of a character guide since there are SO MANY PEOPLE in these books.
The only reason this is getting a 4 instead of a 5 is the ending. The whole book was leading up to finding out what happened to a character and then the book kind of just ends. I flipped back through the end of the book to see if I missed something, but we didn't get a whole lot of closure for the death. It was kind of a strange way to end the book, but I am excited that it looks like we already have a setting for book 3. I cannot wait.
