I don't know what exactly about this book didn't sit comfortably with me. It is everything I would normally enjoy. I liked both the characters and it's not the worst ace representation I have ever seen (although I can only comment on that from a non ace standpoint). 

However,
it didn't click with me. I think my main issue is that though losing your best friend who was a bit mean about your sexual orientation durinh a fight is a big deal. I do not think losing your best friend and losing your baby sister after a battle with cancer and then your mom to substance abuse issues, your dad neglecting you and suffering a hate crime for your sexuality is even close to the same
