Post Me To The Prime Minister by Romaine Moreton

emotional inspiring reflective sad slow-paced

4.75

Romaine Moreton's poetry is both beautiful and provocative, most often in the same stanza. Her poetry explores love, identity, colonisation, and poverty with absolute skillful rigor. Country and kinship is weaved artfully through her work. Unsurprisingly as it is, many of the subjects touched on in her poems still ring familiar today, and with Invasion Day coming up, it's a poingant reminder of how little white so-called "Australia" has changed.

Ultimately, however, Romaine Moreton's collection is powerful – songwork to stick with you for hours on end after turning the last page.
