Another incredible blend of Black history in Kansas and romance. Jenkins is an amazing writer. Her characters are so alive and the historical info feels organic and important.
I read this for a readalong but I can’t remember which one. Some of the Indigenous treatment doesn’t work anymore, but I imagine they were progressive for the genre at the time.
