I think I will value this book higher as I grow away from the reading experience of it. I think it could have been a bit more focused or even structured in a way in which the hues of this memoir could live in a deeper sense beside each other. However, the glimpses into elite boarding school life and the outlook it breeds was a big enough part of this book to justify the title's focus. Okwonga also brings insight into the deliberate yet silent wave of racist energy, traditions, and policies birthed by an institution like Eton and England at large. I'm glad I read this, despite wanting a deeper, perhaps more insightful look into the subjects at hand.
