Quicksilver Dreams by Danube Adele

4.0

This was a beautifully written novel. I loved the Sci-Fi twist and was completely taken in by the story line. Adele is a master of keeping secrets close and only giving away tidbits - enough to keep you interested and working away at the puzzle yourself. Taylor was an interesting character, I wasn't quite sure if I liked her or not. She often left Ryder in a huff or tried to end their "relationship" which came across as a little foolish and a bit like a sulky teenager. I admired her confident assertive side more than her doubtful inner critic. She had a horrible habit of putting herself down and calling herself a trailer park whore... With such a strong assertive capacity I was annoyed when she reverted back into "no one loves me and I am unlovable" mode. Ryder was a typical attractive love interest. I would have liked to see a little more of his playful side after getting such large doses of overprotective male and steamy sex god.

Their relationship is typical romance - physical attraction leads to sexy time which leads to nosy who are you time which leads to hiding time which leads to revealing time and well, you get the picture. What was more interesting was the planetary politics and the role Taylor will have to play. Only a small chunk was revealed before the book ended so I assuming there will be a sequel. I'm definitely going to keep my eye out of it because while the love story was same old same old this story of historical grievances and revenge plots has the potential to explode into awesomeness! Definitely recommend if you like paranormal/sci-fi romance.
