Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

5.0

me, wearily looking at tumblr, knowing that a recommendation from there would come bite me in the ass with how much i loved it years later.

LOOK!!! I FUCKING LOVED THIS!!! And I don't think there are words to say exactly how much!! I love Gideon the reluctant anything in this book. My girl does not want to do anything!! Just look at hot women and swing her sword and eat cake!! And that's so relatable!!! She's also so hilarious, like tell me why am I having so much fun in a book that routinely includes bones, and death and diseases in its narration. The answer is: Gideon.

Also, Tamsyn Muir is just a genius in balancing that humour with intelligence and a good plot, and at the end of the day, what more can i ask for when it comes to my new favourite series? I'm a simple woman, give me correctly researched mythological names, correctly researched and used Latin, and consistent swearing littered throughout, and I will be on my knees!
