I read this after having seen the film and it is quite different but still good. It has a different sort of charm and explains sone things better while the movie added stuff that were wholly enjoyable.
However, I'll treat it as if it was just the book and I gotta say:
- Don't particularly like the sometimes a little too sexual tone of the descriptions. There's just a vibe to it... Idk.
- The romance angle falls flat, somehow. There is just. The chemistry? I don't know.
- I do not get how Una could have known how life on Stormhold is and miss it if she was stolen by a witch as a baby??! I know it is a relatively minor detail but it irks me so much!
I did quite like the language choices, particularly for the voices of the dead and how it is almost common to be under some curse or another. And the Shakespeare-sounding words used, at times.

Moderate: Animal death, Murder, and Death
Minor: Racial slurs
