The Maidens by Alex Michaelides

4.0

- p 99…there’s an awful lot of inner thought here for me to still know little to nothing about the main character. I need dialogue or character build up. I’m not invested, I could put this book down
- P 174 feeling like Mariana’s involvement in the case is a bit of a stretch. Who just lets a stranger in like that to the details and crime scenes?
- Ending.. I did not expect the killer to be Zoe, or for it to be revealed the way it was. There were so many red herrings in this book, which is pretty standard for a mystery, but some of them were so random and a far reach. The guy from her therapy group, for example, felt unnecessary. Overall, I loved it and would recommend it! Just a few things that didn’t make sense and gaps in character development.
