CW for parental abuse particularly negligence / lack of care for safety. Additionally, CW for abuse by a mentally ill parent and all of the complexities of that. Also CW for sibling abuse, specifically abuse by a sibling with multiple traumatic brain injuries + the complexities of such.
The biggest TW for this book I believe is gaslighting. Throughout the entire book Tara is gaslit by various members of her immediate family, and by herself when she writes in her journals revisionist histories of painful times in childhood. Only in the very last pages of the book does the author or acknowledge her lifelong coping mechanism of lying to herself or deeming her own memories unreliable. If you have been gaslit, especially by family, this will be a very difficult read.
