Winter by Marissa Meyer

5.0

When it comes to series' endings, they're hard. Sometimes they're too unrealistic and sometimes they're too realistic. There are loose ends and uncertainties and it's easy for the end to be unsatisfying. It's happened with some of the most acclaimed series'.

But, I'm happy to say, that that was not the case with this series. This one had a very satisfying end and well as sticking to her fairytale retelling about Winter. That's the thing I probably love best about this series; that the important things that happened in the original fairytale happen in this one as well. You don't know how it will happen, and it's always a nice surprize when it does. Like when Cinder lost her foot or when one of the wolf-mutant soldiers was glamoured as Scarlet's grandmother. Or even Thorn losing his eye-sight. They make the series that much better.

And this book followed the same pattern.

I adored this book and the characters so very much. They're all amazing and special and unique. I was rooting for Cinder throughout the book. Kai, I love more than words could express. Wolf was just melting my hart while Scarlet made me proud with how brave, smart, kick-ass and human she is. Cress is my brave little damsel and Captain Thorn is sweet and charming and I would love mothing more than to join his crew. Jacin grew on me with his loyalty and Winter was difficult, but she's Winter. She such a good person, she strong but so fragile and then there's her stobborness, her kindness, her wish to help and her innocence. You could dislike her if you tried.

And finally, I'm gonna say that this series could not have had a better end. I'll miss these characters very much (maybe Marissa Meyer will write a short story or something. A girl can hope). And the last line was perfection.

Very very much recommend the book and the series. It's wonderful.
