La Vida Invisible de Addie Larue by V.E. Schwab

I had great expectations for this book, unfortunately, I didn't like it.
I think I need to start by saying this book is amazingly well written, you can see the author loved creating the story and bringing it to life; the language used is beautiful and the style feels really pretty. Having said that, I felt the story was kind of weak in some parts and it ended up being really repetitive. Was it intentional, in order to show us how Addie's life was? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, the plot is pretty much non existent and I considered not finishing it several times.
The majority of the story is narrated through Addie's eyes, and maybe it's just me but I don't enjoy being in her head chapter after chapter, sometimes I feel like she lacks personality or something to make her more interesting, and I think that's important when your book is character driven.
Also, the book takes place in the time period comprehended by 1700-2014, and not one single time were social injustices, revolutions, or wars in general mentioned. Yes, there's the casual "Oh, there was a war going on in this time period", but I think the book could've been so much better if we got a glimpse of Addie's surroundings. The lack of poc characters is also that I think could've been managed better.
