Alright so, I really wanted to give this book 4 stars just purely because I’m obsessed with the series but I just couldn’t, for a few reasons but mainly because they can’t all be the most perfect works ever, and this being the least favourite of the series so far, it gets a 3/5.

I thought the beginning was a bit average and even though I love the character building and how true this whole series is to showing every moment of Alex’s journey and how she becomes so strong and learns, I did get a little bored (tiniest bit guys I’m searching for flaws here because it’s almost too perfect) with all the fight skill building. I also thought that the storyline of her trying rally the other races to her cause and them *spoiler* rejecting her *spoiler* was very predictable but still I just couldn’t wait to get to the end and see how it all played out.

Soraya, my goodness my heart! Although it does seem convenient for Alex to have lost her other animal counterpart (or bonded Draekon) which was a convenient means for transportation as well as intelligent companion, she stumbles upon another one. But (and a big but) it’s done amazingly and I just want my own Soraya!

The ending got me, and it got me good. Crying on the train was not attractive. William AND Niyx, really??? I understand someone had to lose their life eventually (I also understand others already have) but these two (mainly Niyx) killed me. I was so upset but also just so sweet, their whole love and friendship was just perfect and it makes me upset that it’s not going to be in the series anymore.

The silver lining of this all is the ending, Alex and Kaiden, I can hardly wait any longer. Another amazing book and all I can say is that I’ve started reading the next book and it has taken me a few days to write this because every second of my spare time has been spent reading it! Can’t wait for this series to come to an end but also I’m stressed about what I am gonna do when it does.
