King: A Life by Jonathan Eig

An incredibly engaging biography that highlights MLK’s humanity, faith, power and humility. It’s a whirlwind history of the civil rights movement of the last century with the Reverend at the center of it all. We’re with him as he experiences the violence of white supremacy, racism and the FBI’s suspicion he was a communist, as well as his triumphs with the Montgomery bus boycotts, the March on Washington, desegregation,  voting rights and the Nobel Peace Prize.
Such an outstanding read. Even if you’re not a big fan of biographies consider reading this yourself. It’s well written, well paced, full of personal details, balanced with a sweeping history of the civil rights movement. It was hard to put down. Highly recommend!
