Deep Creek: Finding Hope in the High Country
by Pam Houston
Like all of Pam Houston's writing, the book is gorgeously written, insightful, and deeply personal. It just doesn't really hang together as a book. Taken individually, each section is outstanding. The theme of "home" provides a thought-proving thread throughout, but the rhythm and flow between sections is uneven. Just a little more smoothing around the edges and this book could have been truly lyrical.
