The actual murder plot was ok but over shadowed by and unwanted, unnecessary, and underdeveloped romance. I did not believe in this romance, there was no real connection between the characters, they seemed to have nothing to base their relationship other than sexual attraction. Ruined the book for me as i just wanted to skip past these parts but unfortunately it made up most of the book. This book read more as a badly developed romance novel with a crime subplot than and crime thriller with a romantic sub plot.
It’s a shame as I usually love Tess Gerritsen but this was just not it.
