Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic
by Sam Quinones
Overall the book was very informative and shed new light on both the role prescription opiates and black tar heroin played in the opiate epidemic. The main flaw of the book in my opinion is the sheer repetition of stories. The uniqueness of the drug dealers and how they chose their cities was re-emphasized too many times. I feel the book could have been shorter and still gotten its point across. Normally I wouldn't care about repetition, but saying the same thing basically the same way many times didn't add anything new. However, had it not retraced the same territory, the story itself was fascinating and well told and I think important information was conveyed effectively.
