Before reading this you should know that Junji Ito didn't write the stories, all of the stories in the collection are allegedly true tales polished by Hirokatsu Kihara, so as a lot of others are saying they may not be as interesting or dramatic as completely fictional horror stories. I still enjoyed the book though, especially Junji Ito's artwork.
