After finishing this book, I can’t believe I hesitated to read it... I’m absolutely in love with it! The story feels so emotionally raw and real. There’s some miscommunication, but it gets resolved pretty fast, which makes it all feel very relatable.

I love how January and Augustus meet in the middle of their differences, which end up not being that many. They really protect and care for each other and inspire each other to grow. Gus is so direct about his feelings, even though he’s terrified, while January works hard to manage her anxieties and take his feelings into consideration.

The nuances of January’s relationship with her parents are beautifully written. Dealing with the loss of a great father while discovering he had a secret life is incredibly complex. The letters she finds give some closure, but it’s not neat and tidy, it’s still complicated, and at some point, you just have to accept and let go.

And the tension between January and Gus? Wow! Their chemistry is off the charts—so hot and sensual.

Overall, this book is just beautiful. 10/10, definitely going on my favorites list!
