Olympus, Texas by Stacey Swann
5.0
I'm always intrigued by a retelling of myth, especially when it centers around the messy tangle of Venus, her husband Heph, and his brother Mars. I love the complexity of Swann's storytelling - no character is entirely blameless or evil. It's all complicated, as is life. The Ovid quotes added a nice depth to an already complex family saga. Driven by a compelling plot and carried by snappy dialogue, the story held my full attention with every scene. I had the pleasure of listening to the Audible version and really enjoyed the dual narrators. Fabulous book!
