Follow Me Back
by A.V. Geiger
Do you ever read a book and while you're plodding along, you find yourself only kinda half enjoying it, but you're intrigued enough to keep going, because you want to know the ending? That was my initial feeling with this book. I was in, because I'm not going to deny my weakness for the "celebrity and fan/mortal human romance story" trope, and I'm also down for a bit of a thrilling mystery. And if those tropes were enough to keep me interested, that ending was enough to straight up ruin my evening, and I mean that in a good way.
It's rare that a thriller has a twist that actually manages to surprise me and leave me with a sense of "what in the actual hell", and I applaud this book for doing so.
